The moon kept me awake last night. I am so sleepy, but I must keep going and get back to my tree-house. I will be safe there. Those wolves I heard were not far way. It sounded like they were getting closer. When I get to the river I will follow it back to my tree-house. Besides, there are berries along the river and I am getting hungry. My grandpa used to tell me of all the things a guy could eat if he was out in the forest. I’m glad I remembered a lot of those things. I’m glad he taught me how to catch fish too and dry them by the fire, but I am almost out of fish and all my other food too. I need food.

It’s not very far now, just down the mountain. I can see the river from here. Maybe I had better try to catch some more fish when I get to the river. I better try I think. Then I can eat some and take the rest back to dry for later. I know I will be out here for years. No one knows where I am and I want it that way too. Someone might be looking for me, but I don’t care. I will stay hidden and I will listen and I will hide so nobody will find me. It seems like I have been out here for years already. Maybe I have. Maybe I just don’t remember everything, but I remember what Grandpa taught me.
